Why can’t I remove the filters from my Filterjet/Maxijet/Tradesman?

Understanding filter replacement on FilterJet, MaxiJet, and Tradesman 2 masks

The FilterJet, MaxiJet, and Tradesman 2 masks are all designed and manufactured to meet the EN 405 standard. This European Standard governs the performance of filtering half masks with valves for protection against gases, vapours, and particulates.

These particular masks are classed as disposable and have a maximum usable life of 28 days from the date they are removed from their sealed packaging. After this time, the entire unit — including the mask and filters — should be safely and correctly disposed of.

Because of this, the filters are not designed to be removable or replaceable. This design ensures users do not accidentally exceed the safe lifespan of the product by continuing to use worn-out filters.

Key points:

  • FilterJet, MaxiJet, and Tradesman 2 masks comply with EN 405 standards.
  • The mask is classed as a disposable unit with a 28-day lifespan once opened.
  • The filters are built-in and not designed to be removed or replaced.
  • This design ensures safe and correct usage throughout the product's intended life.
  • After 28 days, the entire mask should be disposed of and replaced.
