Adjusting your safety helmet properly is essential to ensure a secure and comfortable fit, as well as to maintain optimal protection. All JSP safety helmets are designed with adjustable features to suit different head shapes and sizes.
Steps to Adjust Your Helmet:
Headband Adjustment
- Locate the adjustment mechanism at the rear of the helmet.
- Most JSP helmets feature either a wheel ratchet, slip ratchet, or one-touch push-button system.
- Turn or slide the adjuster until the helmet fits snugly but comfortably around your head.
Height Adjustment (if applicable)
- Some JSP helmets allow for the height of the headband cradle to be adjusted.
- This allows you to raise or lower the helmet’s position on your head for better stability and balance.
Chinstrap Adjustment (if fitted)
- Adjust the length of the chinstrap so it sits securely under your chin without being too tight.
- Make sure the strap does not cause discomfort or restrict movement.
Positioning the Helmet
- The helmet should sit level on your head, covering the top and forehead without tipping forward or backward.
- The brim or peak should sit just above your eyebrows.
Check for Comfort and Stability
- Shake your head gently to ensure the helmet stays in place.
- If it moves excessively, recheck the fit using the headband or cradle adjustments.
Additional Tips:
- Always inspect the helmet for wear or damage before adjusting or wearing.
- Do not wear the helmet with accessories that interfere with its fit or stability unless approved by JSP.
